Indulge a Little More…

I enjoyed The Marriage Bargain, Weekend Agreement, and Holiday Affair so much that I had to go back and grab more books from Entangled Publishing’s Indulgence series. These contemparary romance books are great reads in between all the heavy and actioned packed paranormal romance and urban fantasy book that I usually have my nose buried in. With all the Indulgence ebooks being under 250 pages long and priced at $2.99, who wouldn’t want to indulge  in some great romance reads?

Girl Crush Mondays: Kimbra

Kimbra Johnson
This New Zealand native is likened to Florence + the Machines and Bjork.
My music lingo is limited so I don’t know how to exactly label her sound but I am liking her songs.
I love the beats, lyrics and even her videos, it’s fun and upbeat but not clubby.
Just some feel good stuff to laze around with on any given day.
You might have heard her collaboration with Gotye in the airwaves,
Somebody That I Used to Know,
which is Cimmaron’s current favorite song.
But before that single, she already has an album under her belt release in New Zealand and Australia and she’s also a youtube star.
Here are some of my faves:
Two Way Street
And this is what I told Cimmaron and Miss Vain I imagine us bloggers with our book boyfriends.
Touche.

Our Last IMM

In My Mailbox is a meme hosted by Kristi of The Story Siren and was inspired by Alea of Pop Culture Junkie. It gives bloggers the chance to appreciate the books they’ve received, purchased, borrowed, won or traded during the past week and the wonderful opportunity to meet new people.

IT’S TIME FOR ME TO READ SOME ANITA BLAKE
SO LOOKING FORWARD
TO THIS!

This was a joy to read. Lizzie Nichols reminded me a lot of Becky Bloomwood (Shopahilic, Sophia Kinsella) but instead of shopping well she babbles, a lot!

NOTICE:
Because of the recent hoopla about The Story Siren, we here at Talk Supe decided that we will no longer use the IMM meme that she’s hosting moving forward.

Like most of you, we respect other people’s voices and uniqueness but more importantly we value and protect the integrity of our opinion, it might be flawed but it is ours. And though at times it’s very subjective we own and stand by those ideas 100%. Plagiarism is a deplorable act and we choose not to support or be associated with someone whose values are confused about this matter.

But to be fair, TSS had something good going with IMM as it added another shade of fun to an already exciting world. We met new people and hit other fun blogs. So in the spirit of this innovative idea, we’ll still share our new titles but we’ll call our meme something else.

We present to you
BB&B
Bought, Borrowed and Bagged
(meme to follow)
Inspired by Mac’s beloved bookstore owned by Jericho Barrons from KMM’s Fever Series

So if you’re looking for an alternative to IMM you’re more than welcome to participate in this meme. We’ll still share our new titles every Sunday and we hope that you’ll still come visit us and share your new books, we’d love to see what you bought, borrowed and/or bagged over the week regardless of what you call your meme.

Fact or Fiction Whisper Blog Tour: Dylan

I don’t know a guy named Dylan, or anyone else that’s full-blooded Cherokee, but the idea of Dylan was inspired by Tyler, my son. He was born on Dec 15, 2011 and died on December 20, 2011. His heart was enlarged and couldn’t pump properly. I think his heart was too big for this world. Like Dylan’s.

“How would you know I was there?”
His gaze locked on mine and I stilled, barely able to breathe. All trace of laughter disappeared from his expression. His stare was heavy to the point of paralyzing.
“My soul would recognize you and wake me.” His voice was gravelly and low, barely above a whisper, but it filled my ears and raced straight to my heart. I felt a keen familiarity with this moment and with Dylan himself. It was more than déjà vu. It was something inside me recognizing something inside him.

He hung on for five days, long past what the doctors thought was medically possible, and I think Dylan does the same for Whisper. He’s ready to die if it means rest because living for so long has made him weary. He presses on because he knows Whisper needs him. I sort of felt like Tyler did that for us. He hung on because he knew we needed the extra time.

Okay, that’s enough sad. I dwell, you musn’t. Let’s talk Dylan. He’s Native American, which means he has a tan. And he has long(er) hair. I have never written a character with the shaggy hair look. It’s long enough to pull back in a ponytail, just barely though. And this might be weird, since that’s not my type but I really had to specifically picture him to know I’d find him attracted. And this was all before I created him. Because if I didn’t find him attractive, I know ou wouldn’t either. Very important details here: I picture all angles. Angular jaw and sharp shoulders. CUT, baby. Yeah. That sort of body can go with any hair cut it wants.
Speaking of, Dylan cuts his hair himself – #alsosexy and I like that it’s not even all the way across. Kind of rugged and again #sexy

Showers of Books Winner

And the winner is…
LINDA H.
CONGRATULATIONS!
Thanks everyone for joining this hop and welcome to our new followers.
As for our hop question regarding your opinion on the future movie’s casting choice that being
Lily Collins and Jamie Campbell Bower;
Honestly I think Pettyfer is a good fit for Jace because in my opinion he has the right build, face and swagger to pull off the famous Nephilim. As for Lily, she’s not my choice but she’s ok to play Clary.
Now I’d like to share this with you, this happened late September last year:

NAMELESS FAN: No offense but even if they casted some obscure person for Jace, no big wig including Cassandra is going to publicly bash the movie makers choice for the role. Every writer wants their books turned into a movie, it is a huge honor and publicly bashing a poor choice in casting is a career suicide. So, I honestly cannot believe that Cassandra believes Jamie is the best choice for Jace. Jamie looks like a wimpy drag queen not a warrior, and he is ugly! Someone really did wrong with this casting, and I object!

Cassandra Clare: You are completely wrong. I wouldn’t have had a problem if they’d cast an obscure person for Jace — they auditioned quite a lot of not well-known actors. If one of them had been the best choice for the part, I would have been fine if they had cast him. If I were unhappy with Jamie, I wouldn’t have to speak out about it — I could simply remain silent on the topic, or reiterate the absolutely true fact that I have no choice about casting. I have chosen to go on record as thinking that Jamie is amazing for the part because his audition was amazing.

As for you thinking he’s ugly — fine. You are entitled to your personal opinion. I think it’s a little weird that you seem to think everyone must agree with you, given that the guy has a successful modeling career, is the face of Uniqlo, has a bazillion fansites dedicated to him, was recently listed as one of Glamour Magazine’s Most Gorgeous Men in the World — but you know, whatever, we all have different taste. I do not however understand why you would assume that I would share your taste, or that because I don’t, it’s acceptable to call me a liar. It’s not.

Oh, and calling him a “wimpy drag queen”? Homophobic. And unacceptable. You should be ashamed, and so should the people who “liked” your post. Equating homosexuality with weakness is flat-out bigotry and while the kids who “liked” the post might not get that, as an adult, certainly should.

Ouch! Someone got schooled big time.

Well on this same thread CClare also stated that when she saw Jamie & Lily’s audition tape she cried because they ARE Jace and Clary. So how does one even begin to argue with God at this point? This is her world and I guess since they have her stamp of approval then it couldn’t be that bad.

We’ll see…
